NATURAL COLORS
2015

While working on another project, I became interested in finding a natural, environmentally friendly way to dye wood and fabric. After a bit of research and experimenting in the kitchen, I was able to extract natural pigments from various berries and vegetables. Inspired by basic chemistry experiments, I used ingredients like lemon, vinegar and baking powder to change the pH-value of red cabbage solutions, finally resulting in a shift in color from purple to bright pink, green or blue.

“Natural Colors” is about what we eat and how we consume, about food and material, about our role in a larger ecosystem. Make use of natural resources. Just don’t take more than you need.
